The Denali Commission has contracted AECOM to update the 2019 Statewide Threat Assessment.
The 2019 Assessment evaluated community vulnerability to erosion, flooding, and permafrost thaw, assigning each community a score from 0 to 3 – where:
- 0 = No vulnerability
- 3 = High vulnerability
This update expands upon the original study by incorporating additional data sources and evaluating vulnerability to a broader range of hazards, including:
- Earthquakes
- Glacial outburst flooding
- Landslides
